work differently
Highlight Tours Ecuador is a tour operator specialized in private journeys through the Ecuadorian Amazon. Our main base is Aguas Negras River Lodge, located in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, one of the most biodiverse regions of the Amazon rainforest.
We do not believe in mass tourism in sensitive natural environments. Instead, we host only a few guests at a time, creating private, tailor-made expeditions adapted to the interests and pace of each traveler. Our journeys leave space for the unexpected—wildlife encounters, silence, and authentic moments that cannot be scheduled.

Why this Place & why this Way
Our connection to the Ecuadorian Amazon did not begin as a business idea. It began with time spent in the rainforest, listening, learning and slowly understanding what makes the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve & Yasuni so powerful.
Over time, this connection grew into the desire to share the Amazon in a respectful way. Not through mass tourism or fixed itineraries, but through private journeys that allow space for silence, time and real presence. Our approach creates space for silence, wildlife encounters and genuine connection with the forestoffering a deeper and more authentic Amazon travel experience in Ecuador.
A Small & Intentional Way to Explore the Amazon
We consciously chose to work on a small scale.
All our journeys are private, carefully designed and limited in number. We travel slowly, adapting to the natural rhythm of the Amazon rainforest and leaving space for moments that cannot be planned.
Some journeys are lodge-based, others go far beyond.
From our small, family-run jungle lodge with only four rooms in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, we also set out on multi-day Amazon expeditions—paddling remote rivers, camping in the rainforest and reaching wild areas deep in the jungle, near the Peruvian border.
Home in the Rainforest & Deep Wilderness
Our lodge is simple, rustic and located at a private lagoon, hidden deep in the Amazon rainforest of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. It offers calm, shelter and a place to truly arrive.
Beyond the lodge, the Amazon opens in a different way.
Our Amazon camping journeys allow an even closer connection nights under the stars, bathing in jungle rivers and experiencing the raw presence of the rainforest and its wildlife.
Both ways of traveling follow the same philosophy: simplicity, respect and depth.
